Manx Telecom has used Red Hat Enterprise Linux since the inception of its hosting services division and has gradually experienced more and more of the benefits of open source, not least of which is its high availability. There has also been an increase in demand for open source solutions from its customers.

Manx Telecom’s Data Centre was recently awarded a prestigious contract that includes the development, deployment, and management of a leading-edge geographically diverse Managed Service Platform for a leading global online payment solutions provider and regulated e-money issuer. Utilising the latest in SAN replication technology, this multi vendor hardware and software platform is heavily reliant on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Advanced Platform and its included clustering and file system capabilities.

“Having provided managed service platform solutions to the customer for over five years, we were approached to develop and implement a high-availability platform that would scale to meet the ever changing demands on our customers business and would be a catalyst for the delivery of new products and services across their group,” said Stephen Kane, e-Gaming & e-Business Development Manager, Manx Telecom.
